What do you when you fancy a good day out or even just a pleasant drink and your dog looks up at you with big, brown eyes? From the editors of the UK's No 1 travel guide, the much loved "Good Pub Guide", comes the latest edition of the "Good Guide to Dog Friendly Pubs, Hotels and B&Bs". Fully revised with up-to-date prices and venue information, the guide provides you with hundreds of fantastic places in the UK to drink, eat and stay with your dog. So don't leave your faithful friend to languish in kennels...give the dog a bone and take him on holiday too!
Alisdair Aird & Fiona Stapley are the editors of The Good Pub Guide. Both previously worked with the Consumers' Association.
Either not many places in Britain allow dogs or this guide just doesn't have enough information. Some areas are well covered but some have pitifully few entries (London in particular). Also many of the hotels listed say dogs are allowed in bedrooms only but must be accompanied at all times. How are you supposed to make that work? Hardly any B&Bs are listed
Good guides are generally excellent and this is a great idea but just needs to be more comprehensive.
Just as the blurb says about hating to leave your pooch or put it in care for a week, I had the same problem. And you never know if they are being looked after properly. I have already been to a few places mentioned in the book, and all were pleased to accommodate us along with our pooch. What about one for cat friendly pubs, only kidding.
