The gentle rhyming and gorgeous, tissue-paper collage illustrations in this classic picture book make it a dog-eared favourite on many children's bookshelves. On each page, we meet a new animal who nudges us onward to discover which creature will show up next: "Blue Horse, Blue Horse, What do you see? I see a green frog looking at me." This pattern is repeated over and over, until the pre-reader can chime in with the reader, easily predicting the next rhyme. One thing readers might not predict, however, is just what kinds of funny characters will make an appearance at the denouement! Children on the verge of reading learn best with plenty of identifiable images and rhythmic repetition. Fantastic!!!
My 2 year old son loves this book. He gets very excited when we turn the page to see what each animal can see. He shouts out what it is then the colour. Very simple and very effective!!

A delightful book, bought it for my granddaughter, 1yr 20 mths, she loved it, as did her brother 3yrs 6 mths. One of the best books for learning colours I have ever found. Plenty of repetition, which small children love, but imaginatively written.

Great for young children
I have two children, 18 months and 33 months and they both love this book, and we read it sometimes several times a day. It is helping the 18 month old learn animals and their noises which is great and my older one with colours.

Brown bear rules!
What a fabulous book, my 4 year old grandaughter loved it from the first reading! The repetitive language is easy to pick up and the simple pictures are colourful and enjoyable. We are going to get the other books in theseries. Enjoy!

Our baby absolutely adores this book
He's 7 months old, and does not cease to enjoy this book. He wants to hear it over and over again, and is always happy and excited when we read it to him. If you only get one book for your baby- get this one!
