Wildlife of Costa Rica by Carrol Henderson
For those, like myself, who like to see all the wildlife of an area this book is excellent. It gives wide coverage of common birds and mammals, and more limited coverage of reptiles, insects etc. Included are colour photos, identification points, animal statistics and maps showing where the creatures were seen on previous group tours. I wish a similar book existed for other places I have visited. br /It is large for a field guide but ideal as a reference book for non specialists.

One of the Best
This book, along with the photo-essay collection, "Costa Rica : The LastCountry the Gods Made," should be owned by anyone who loves Costa Rica,even if they think they despise nature studies as dry and limited. Thisbook's spirit is undeniable.
