Nicholson ordnance survey guide to the waterways
We used nicholson's books on our barge holiday, in the U.K., and found it to be of tremendous help in finding places to tie up/eat/explore, without it we would have been lost.

An Invaluable Source Of Canal Information
We went on the Llangollen canal last year and used this book to plan our route and our stops. Without this we would have missed the best places on our route. It includes more than just canal information but little summary's on pub's, restaurants and towns on the route. Especially useful were the opening times etc of places, I can't think what else you could need from a guide, this is certainly more than just maps, more like having a personal guide with you. This year we intend to visit the four counties and am going to buy the updated version.
