The road to hell & backAmazing book. Nikki was one of my heroes growing up so this book was a must read. It really shows the lows of addiction in a stark light and how Nikki's upbringing really didn't help him either. But it also has it's lighter side, with some brilliant tales of Motley's debauchery. I really couldn't put this book down until I had finished it. As Nikki says if it helps steer a few people onto a better path then all the better.

Great book (needlephobes use caution)The Heroin Diaries is more than a diary of Nikki Sixx life, it is an insight into his mind.
The pages are illustrated with doodles, and drawings that match his on/off love affair with heroin.
Great read for fan's of the band, and those interested in the mind of a musician, but there are needle and syringe images lovingly drawn throughout, over 1/3 of the book is unreadable if you happen to be one of the 10% who are needlephobic.
My advice? Buy the book, and get someone to read it with you if you can't look yourself. It's worth the extra hassle to understand the passion, addiction and backstory of one of rock's most iconic figures.

Amazing bookThis is a book i was unable to put down once i began to read it. It is a sad, funny and scary read of a rock star totally out of control. As you read this book you will find it hard to believe that Nikki survived all this and came through in the end. Some of the entries in the book make for uncomfortable reading, but that is the point he is making. Nikki is showing you that being a rock star may be a dream but it can also become a nightmare. The book has comments by motley crue and friends / lovers. It should also be noted that the book is lovely quality. the paperback is printed on glossy paper and colour is used throughout the book.
This book is not just for Motley Crue fans. Anyone who is interested in the Rock 'N' Roll lifestyle will enjoy this book. If you want tales of sex, drugs and Rock 'N' Roll then grab a copy of this book.

Brilliant - couldn't put it downA year in the life of one of the hardest-living rockstars ever to survive, recreated through his actual diaries from 1987, interspersed with comments and memories by Nikki and his his bandmates, colleagues and friends (some of them also somewhat scrambled!)
I'm in awe of how this guy stayed alive, but also a bit in awe of how clear he is in the diaries of where his problems stemmed from, even while he was using any drug possible to escape himself. All credit to him for coming back from the brink and tackling his demons sober.

Honest, eye opening and worth every penny!!!When I started reading this book I found it very difficult to put down!! Nikki Sixx has poured his heart and soul into 'the heroin diaries' and its as fascinating as it is witty and in parts very sad.
A lot of close friends and family members have contributed and often shed Nikki in a rather negative light (and some embarassing stories for Slash too!) but he doesnt try to sugarcoat anything and admits to being difficult!
I sent a copy of this book to my friend who has been through similar situations in his life, he's already read it twice and has about 10 people waiting to borrow it!
The layout and artwork of the book is excellent and I'd strongly reccomend you listen to the 'Heroin Diaries Soundtrack' by Sixx AM....Its not very Motley Crue but it's very good, especially the tracks 'Life is Beautiful' and 'Accidents can happen'
Rock and Roll has always been my therapy and now so is this book!
