It's the first book to be pulled from the box when she wants a story read to her. At 9 months she is now able to pull the flaps on each page to reveal the knickers...and takes much delight in doing so. I'm only worried that her first word will actually be 'knickers'
I bought this book for my son Horace, many years back. He has taken great pleasure and learning from it. Even now, this book has a regular position in the upstairs lavatory. The idea of using flaps to initially conceal the knickers (quite the opposite to what Doreen does!), is a marvellous one and the guessing element is most entertaining. Horace grew up with a keen interest in knickers that has never abated (although he has given me his sincerest assurance that the recent spate of thefts from local washing-lines is not of his doing and I take him at his word).
I bought the book when my little girl was only a few months old and I've been reading it to her for about a year now. She absolutely adores it and it is by far her favourite book. From 14 months she has been saying purple as we have read the book, unfortunately can't get her to say red or blue. Would recommend it to anyone with little ones
My 10 month old son Harry absolutely adores this book! Although it is probably intended for slightly older children he finds it so entertaining that he will reach for this book in preference to the overflowing toy box. If I pick it up he speeds across the room in delight - he cant wait to see the lovely bright pictures, hear the funny voices each animal makes and of course see what colour their knickers are.
We are now on the second copy as he has shown his true appreciation of the book as only babies can.... by completely destroying it with dribble/chewing/tearing/trampling!
