Legend of Zu
Actually this is the NEW version of Legend of Zu, with Sammo Hung in the same role and again directed and produced by Tsui Hark. There are TWO different films made in the span of ten years, so here you are buying new version with Ekin Cheng, NOT Yuen Biao. Have seen both, both are lovely in different ways, with plot more or less the same. Okay, the little skulls are funny in both versions.

Wrong review.
I've noticed that a few people here have reviewed the wrong film and rated the film that is The Legend Of Zu as if it was the classic from 1983. Which was might I add a classic! br / br /This re-take on it is without a doubt one of the worst films I have ever ever seen. A complete waste of my time and concentration. I had to from beginning to end 'try' and figure out what in the hell was going on. It felt like a whole string of scenes put together without any pacing or thought. br / br /CGI was the main thing throughout the film - no acting, no characters. The casting and acting was probably the worst I've seen. Even considering that the standard in HK is quite low at times. br / br /Zhang Ziyi being dubbed over with a spray-on tan and bit-part roleas a generals daughter? br / br /Fighting scenes which involved nothing more than flying and finger pointing. br / br /Swords that don't actually swing but twirls like ribbons. br / br /Ekin Cheng being in film didn't help me like the film at all either. br / br /And. . . br / br /Where's the plot, where's the plot, where's the PLOT?! br / br /Even with all the famous actors and 'stars' in this film. It isn't worth watching. Avoid at all costs.

Far from all that
Being a fantasy/adventure/Kung-Fu movie fan, I had high hopes for this one. But it really never hit the target. The humour was good I think, and the special fx was just lovely (totally old school). But where it falls apart is in the confusing filming. It was actually pretty sloppy at times; it could have been so much better they had just taken the time to produce each scene properly. But it was worth a watch and if you are a fan of Hong Kong movies, this one will certainly entertain you.

a piece of cinema history
i watched this film when i was a kid. and absoloutley loved it even to this day now i can still feel the same excitement as i did when i was a kid when i watch the film. from start to end this is one of the best films ever, and those swords WOW!!!
