Quite effective for a low budget TV piece. Certainly very different from the other British TV movie about this incident, and portrays Ryan as very much an outsider compared with the rest of the group. Not sure about McNabs portrayal, which comes across as rather negative. Some of the action sequences do show snippets of the style that would be more obvious in Mr Greengrass's later films

Debatable...
Strange image of this patrol this story tells. Not all heroic as McNab told it, but leaving me puzzled. Following this story - the patrol was very amateurish from the beginning to the end. Including the way they behaved in contact and the blood thirsty attitude of nearly all of them. Vince is shown as a complete loser and an old man unfit for his duty. So is McNab - the opposite of any leader attitude you'd expect from a seasoned soldier. br / br /I am confident none of these two stories is close enough to what really happened (in terms of humans' behavior and some details especially in contacts). The truth lays somewhere between the two stories. But this movie made me first of all understand why Mr. Ryan is unpopular among his fellow soldiers. br / br /It is worth watching if you want to have your own opinion (after watching bravo two zero movie, that is).
