A fabulous reference book.
This book is excellent in that it really takes your design drawings to a new level. It is a fantastic reference for any designer and includes anatomical studies as well as items on stylisation, patterns and poses. I mostly use it for templates as I'm in the middle of a life drawing course and don't want to confuse techniques, and would definitely recommend this book for said use.

The only negative points are that, as has been previously said, the drawings can look a bit dated. The mocked-up designs at the end, whilst being purely to show the diversity of styles that are around - probably won't appeal to most. Also, Drudi has a very distinctive style, which some may find hard to personalise.

Overall I'd say this book is a must for the fashion student.

A great help for a beginner.
Ive never written a review for amazon before despite buying the majority of my book/cd collection from here. The other reviews on this book though were a great help when I was deciding whether to purchase which is why im writing this one. The first thing to note about the book is its size. Its a big old bumper book and has lots of content. Not too much writing, mostly just footnotes across the bottom. It has lots of different figure templates. Different body sizes and poses. I cheated a little a traced the outline and then freehanded my designs over the top (My creativity is not matched by artistic talent unfortunately so I find it difficult to get proportions correct.) As someone else mentioned the shoes and hairstyles are a little dated. However I did find the pages at the back of the book really helpful detailing how to draw accurate collars/pleats/neck lines/backs of garments. For a tenner Im really quite happy with it. More than I expected and definitely value for money.

Really good for fashion designer-in-the-making
This book gives lots of detailed step-by-step ways to do fashion drawing; getting proportions right, face, feet, e.c.t. I have to admit that i haven't actually finished going through it as I don't have the time! So, only buy if you have alot of time on your hands.

Only negative thing i would have to say about it, would be that it is a little dated - all the knickers, waistbands are all above the hip bone (it really annoys me actually!) and shoes....well i wouln't really go there!

anyway, if the above paragraph does not affect you in any way, go for it! I would say it is a really good book for anyone who does dress making as well.

Great book
I really really really like this book!!

It shows you how to draw every part of the female body, it has loads of hair styles, eye shapes, nose shapes, mouth shapes, poses from the front back and side and all other angles you can imagine.

It has the perfect amount of text to go with it, so your not sat reading for hours instead of drawing! It even shows you different clothes including the smallest of details like hook and eyes and button holes. It shows you how the clothes should fit and hang and gives you different types of skirts, trousers, shirts, jackets, even collars! Its fab!

HOWEVER it has very very very detailed drawings which would take forever to draw if you are just starting fashion drawings and you're not very confident and your a bit of a perfectionist.

BUT it does show you very simple drawings so that you can work your way up to the more impressive ones.

GO BUY IT NOW, ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY!
