Not a rip-off at all, actuallyYes this is a compilation of already well known material, and any Monty Python fan will know this stuff backwards already. But it's good material. It's funny. And it stands up to repeated listening, which is no mean feat when it comes to comedy. Some of the sketches feel a little bit like they're trying to bang a square peg into a round hole (e.g. 'Bells') but they are in the minority. Most of this album sounds effortless. Interspersed with some songs and some clips from the soundtrack of The Holy Grail, the sketches on this CD stand up for what they are: well written, hilarious, absurd and thought-provoking. And one or two of the "classic" sketches have been given new twists here and there, so it's not like you're listening to something that is word for word what you've already seen on telly, or in your DVD collection. If you already love Monty Python, then you'll love this. You probably already have it in your collection anyway, so you're probably not even reading this because you don't have to. If you don't like Monty Python, then you won't like this. Don't buy it. But if you're not sure, or if you're up for exploring new stuff, then you could do much, much worse than give this a go. And if you are reading this, then you must be intrigued enough to find out more. Go on. Buy it. You'll love it. Honestly.

If you love your Monty Python.......this is the CD for you. Full of all their classics, this will keep you amused on long car journeys, to the point where you will be able to recount entire sketches to your friends and relatives.pParticular favourites are Bookshop, String, Cheese Shop and Novel Writing. And even the Spanish Inquisition pops up unexpectedly .pOne for Python fans wanting a definitive audio collection. Would also suit anyone wanting to discover Python. With a little judicious use of the volume control on Cheese Shop in particular (I don't care how ***ing runny it is..."), even the kids can enjoy it.

A must-have for all Python fans!Absolute classic Python - the best compilation ever. Listen to it at home, or better still in the car. Watch out for the rotating knives when you get home though :)
