Dazzling Exquisite Pianism!!!
The supreme Romantic/Virtuoso pianist Earl Wild's own wonderfully sensitive solo piano transcriptions performed by the pianist with dazzling virtuosoty and exquisite tonal delicacy. br / br /Solo version of Largo from Chopin's second (or actually first) piano conerto is the highlight of this captivating recital - wonderfully refined playing! His old age seems to show no sign of technical decline and to deepen his musicianship.

A great Romantic master at 80
This CD is beyond reproach. There are only different ways to describe your enjoyment of it.pEarl Wild is one of the great Romantic virtuosi of the piano, and at 80 on this disc, he is still going more than strong.pIt's interesting to compare his recording here of his Rachmaninov song transcriptions with his recording of them from years ago. If here he has lost, at 80, just a very little of the 'fire', he has certainly lost none of the fluency and grandeur.pThe suite from "Snow White" is very lovely and makes a super addition to this programme. pOverall, your jaw must drop at what Wild can do. It's all so enjoyable, and sounds so completely in control, with not a hint of lack of agility in old age.pThe recorded sound is sumptuous, with Wild's lovely Baldwin sounding plummier than ever.pPiano lovers really must have this.
