It was a little poppier possibly but it still contains in my opinion their best collection of tunes. The production is really good, very bass heavy, and Snider is in fine voice. "The Kids Are Back" "I Am (I'm Me)" were classic singalong anthems, but album tracks such as "We're Gonna Make It" "I've Had Enough" were equally strong. TS sold out to MTV with "Stay Hungry" in 1984, and turned pop-metal, to which they never recovered but pick this up the debut "Under The Blade" and you have their best 2 efforts.
A seven foot man (including hair}jumping up and down on the Top of Pops stage screamimng "I am and I'm me" and wearing so much make up, he looks like Barbara Cartlands ugly sister is a powerful image. That was my introduction to Twisted Sister back in 1983, it still lives with me. Believe me Twisted Sister are worth a million of the bland bands that pass for music these days! brThe ugly sisters of the glam metal world, Twisted Sister were agressive and uncompromising. Catch them on this record; it's their finest. From the the stompimg "kids are back" to the anthemic "I am and I'm me" to the blistering "you can't stop rock and roll" this album never lets up. brWhen I replaced my vinyl with this CD version, friends laughed, but hey, sometimes you just need Twisted F**kin' Sister!
