Wonderful, uplifting musicAs long-standing Chris Rea fans we bought this CD not really knowing what to expect. We quickly grew to love it and it is great for playing loudly in the car. I used it in 2 dance displays at school and the track "Horses" was so popular that the pupils asked for it many times. It shows Chris Rea at his best - a brilliant fusion of classical, pop and melodic music.

Another beauty Christopher..take a bow...Yes, a terrific group of songs and tunes from one of the most underrated singer/songwriters. I have seen Chris twice (1986 and 2004) and loved both shows. This album is a cross between pop, rock and classical.....deeply touching and highly romantic. Great to have the beautiful voice of Shirley Bassey in many songs. I bought it for the song "Girl in a sports car"....which captivated me in 1998 on the on-line music system on a plane bound for the US. Traced the song to this album and glad I have found some other great surprises as well. Did he compose some of these tunes?..."Horses" for example is incredible.... The album is just great, perfect for the car...how ironic!......don't retire Mr. Rea...give us 10 more years

La Passione - VHS Videothe 30 minute documentary earns this video the 2 stars - hence no stars for the film. If the von Trips footage had been appended separately also (an idea for the DVD ?) I'd have said four stars but again none for the film I'm afraid. What a good von Trips documentary and pop video combination this would have made. The whole film has a naievity about it which makes it fairly unwatchable. Advice - buy a video about Ferrari (and von Trips) if you're into motor-racing, and buy a Chris Rea video if you like Chris Rea - don't be tempted to try to combine the two activities !!

TerribleChris Rea is, of course, a hugely successful music artist, but he has no idea of how to make a film. I saw this at a preview screning, and could not wait for it to end. The film is a mind-numbingly dull travelogue of shots of speeding red Ferrari's, along with repeated shots of endless roads weaving through countryside, wild horses galloping, crashing waves, etc, etc. Occasionally the plot surfaces, a dull and unconvincingly acted tale of a boy's passion for red Ferraris, and there is a surpise cameo (and musical number!) by Shirley Bassey...the films only highlight. brI have no doubt that this was an intensely personal project for Chris Rea, but to subject the cinemagoing public to 90-plus minutes of aimless musing like this was a huge mistake. Chris Rea fans - buy the soundtrack. Everyone else, steer well clear.

A must for Ferrari fansChris Reas music compliments a superbly produced film of a young boys fascination and dream of owning a Ferrari. The soundtrack is magnificent with classical, pop and the outrageous Shirley Bassey. A must for Ferrari and Chris Rea fans
