Best album ever
Until hearing this album I had only ever heard a couple of Joe Cocker tracks, now I am a devoted fan and have just purchased Hymn for the soul.I think this album is absolutely brilliant.Perfect voice, perfect lyrics, in fact this is my favourite album ever, and I like a wide variety of music. Some of the covers I didn`t like, by the original artists,but Joe puts his own stamp on them,and in my opinion improves them.

Good Performance but very bad recording
This was my first Joe Cocker album. I was expecting it to be a studio, and not a live, recording. Despite the good performance, the recording is the worst I have heard. I can hardly hear Joe in the backgrough. Its like someone recorded in in secret with a pocket mircophone and then recorded that on tape times over. Only buy this if there is no others available.

A blistering album from Joe Cocker!
This fine cd opens with 'Summer In The City' the Lovin' Spoonful's 1966 hit which Joe sings with strength and drive. The superbly emotive and atmospheric 'N'oubliez Jamais' is absolutely outstanding, whilst 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood', made popular by the Animals, is given the full Cocker treatment and is all the better for it. The ever popular classic 'Delta Lady' is an obvious choice for this cd, whilst the powerful 'Let The Healing Begin' adds further strength to this excellent collection of songs. The cd finishes with a live version of 'With A Little Help From My Friends.' There is not a weak track on this eighteen track cd. A blistering album from Joe Cocker, definitely worthy adding to your cd collection. Recommended.
