The Wright Stuff.'Single White Female' has been a career peak for Chely so far. It's a great album containing the number one title track and some fine country songs to boot.

br /Chely has a true country sound that really comes across in her recordings. There are some great heart wrenching ballads here and it's a wonderful listen. This album really does put her up there with the top cowgals. Get this cd and you won't be disappointed. Adios.

One Of Chely's Most Popular Albums!!!This album along with her previous cd Let Me In are the most popular albums between Chely Wright fans, however personally this isn't my favourite!
br /But having said that it is still a great album that easily deserves 4 stars.
br /It includes the title track and her only no.1 hit to date Single White Female,a catchy Pop/Country uptempo. There's also her 2 other hits It Was and the gorgeous ballad She Went Out For Cigarettes(my fave).
br /Other gems are the lovely ballads The Love That We Lost and Picket Fences, which Chely wrote and Alison Krauss provides the harmonies on.There's also the great uptempo Some Kind Of Somethin' and Rubbin' It In-you'll be reaching for the repeat button for this one.
br /She wraps up the album with a fantastic ballad Why Do I Still Want You which features the wonderful Patty Loveless on harmonies.
br /Not my favourite Chely album but still highly recommended.....

"It was real, it was magic ... "This album is a great one. It blends country pop with traditional, and Chely's voice - which I consider to be one of the best ever - makes anything she does sound traditional, even when everything around her is lighter pop. She performs all tracks within these sub-genres with gusto and has successfully produced her breakthrough album.

br /Buy it. You won't regret it.

Wonderful stuff!!!I bought this album after I had heard the song, Single White Female. I had no idea who this woman was and was extemely pleased to hear her other songs. She has a wonderful huskiness to her voice and that all important texan 'twang' that I love about country music.brI was pleased to see that she actually wrote some of her own material too. Buy this album and you won't be disappointed.

A masterpiece of contemporary countryWith this album, Chely demonstrates that contemporary country music can be highly entertaining. The first three tracks were all successful radio singles.pPicket fences (not one of those three), perhaps my favorite track, is about a mother struggling to raise a family and wondering why anybody would envy her lifestyle.pShe went out for cigarettes, another great song, is about a woman who suddenly decides she's had enough and just keeps driving. I hope she knew where she was heading, but the song doesn't tell us.pActually, I love the whole album. As long as there are singers of Chely's quality around, country music will flourish.
