I remember when I was about 14 or 15 seeing a short clip of them performing Rising High, and just thought that the guitar riffs were brilliant, together with really good vocal hooks. I think they actually use two or three singers, a trend that has increased of late with some of these over rated Nu-metal bands, but if done well, it allows rap, rock and pop vocals to be merged with variety. This album is a classic in my view - perhaps the second half isn't quite as good as the first, but I guarantee that every one of the first 7 or 8 tracks will blow you away
I first heard this album in '95 after my old man bought it back from Germany. I was blown away. I thought it was fantastic, it sounds like a mix of the late, great Rage Against The Machine and Metallica. Stand out tracks for me were Little Girl, Say Baby, Revolution and Risin' High. BUT Move sounds like it's trying to be a pop/hip hop tune. IT DOESN'T WORK!!! All in all though I think it's worth buying. Compared to their new stuff this is unbeatable!
On the very first time on hearing this album, I was very suprised to hear some great music. Little known band in the UK, but they have produced some rockin' tunes on this CD. I would recommend this to anyone with a rebelious streak who likes rock music - but it ain't all rock!! Its different.
