With Leon Russell's excellent orchestration (and some good songs too) the "crew" bang out one of the best live gigs on record - EVER.brCocker's voice is superb of course and the whole thing is just nicely the wrong side of polished.pGreat Stuff
Call me an old-fashioned trouser burp if you like, but good time rock 'n roll doesn't get much better than this! J.C.'s voice has never sounded sharper. The music is live, raw, tight as a scuba suit and Leon Russell's piano style pulls the whole glorious sound together. Stand out tracks arebr"Feelin' Alright" , "Delta Lady" and "Space Captain". This concert captures the mood (and then some) of the late 60's, early 70's, it really does!
Gathering together many excellent muscians in only a few days, they cheery-picked many of the classic songs of the late sixties/early seventies - Beatles, Stones, Leon Russel and so on - and then turned them inside out. The wonderful, unique arrangements are perfect for Cockers British blues' voice - never better - and the American Soul which infuses each rhythm - toe tapping compulsary. Listen and enjoy the sheer delight of a band having fun and emotional power of popular music at its peak.
