Please note track 6 Offshore 97 "with Power Circle" is not the vocal version which is a little disappointing but overall still a masterclass effort.
An excellent mini album of remixes by Chicane. Highly recommended even if you have the album as the re-mixes enhance your listening pleasure. Listen to it after a night out or just to chill to.pBuy this if you like BT's ESCM or if you are new to Chicane
OK so they're nice tracks - most of them. Chicane's two "proper" albums include some of the best dance music of recent years from ambient to trance and it's all well structured, melodic stuff. The problem with "Chilled" is that 2 of the 6 tracks are exactly as they appear on the first album (Offshore and Sunstroke)and 2 are shoddy remixes (Lost You Somewhere and Sunstroke).pThis leaves one OK remix by A Man Called Adam which to give credit where it's due is what a remix should be - a reworking of the original, maintaining some of the artists idea and developing it in a different way. That said though - Chicane do it better on their own.pThis leaves "Strong In Love" which is not featured on either of Chicane's LPs. This track sounds so similar to various other tracks by Chicane you'll swear it IS the other track. On their superb recent track "Don't Give Up", Chicane borrow a riff from the (far superior) remix by BT and Paul van Dyk of Dina Carroll's "Run To You" - that riff is also included on "Strong In Love". You could excuse it one track ... but on 2. It's unnecessary when Chicane have so much obvious talent anyway.pI am disappointed with the purchase of this CD and hope these comments help anyone keen on Chicane to steer clear of this ... Your money will be far better spent and it will buy you some of the most innovative dance music of recent years.
This is a small EP-type collection of some of Chicanes most fantastic releases, remixed versions of course, and includes the non-album single Strong In Love featuring Mason. The only word of warning I would issue is to diehard Chicane fans - if you have all of the singles, you have all of the tracks from this offering
Oh yeah, very nice. Chilled indeed. Tracks 4 and 6 are fantastic (almost worth the money on their own) with the rest proving to be good solid tracks, although possibly a little too similar to the originals. I've paid twice as much for albums that last half the time of this little beauty. If you like your music laid back then you can't go far wrong.
