This has some great tracks on it, and although they are all amazing a few stand out as exceptional. 'Breakdown' will give you goosebumps as the crowd sing along and even harmonise! 'American Girl' is as great live as it is recorded and is an obvious crowd pleaser. The tracks with Stevie Nicks duetting are incredible and the version of 'Shout' is a full tilt, rock stomping affair and will soon slap a big old grin on your face. Until Tom Petty brings out another live album, which he REALLY must, this is the best place to hear their live sound and get some feel for the live experience. Of course I recommend some of the DVD's out there to get a better feel for Petty live and with some more up to date tracks. This album can't be beaten though and you should not hesitate in snapping it up.
Old songs, new songs, cover versions - this live album covers all the bases. TP is in great voice throughout. From the feeling in the intro (So you wanna be a rock 'n' roll star), to the searing American Girl and beyond, there isn't a dud track. The unplugged style intro to The Waiting is a revelation, and Stevie Nicks dutifully steps up to duet on Insider. Some of this material is unique to this CD, and is unmissable. Buy it!
