Amazon.co.uk ReviewFollowing Val Kilmer's portrayal of the caped crusader in IBatman Forever/I, the fourth IBatman/I feature stars George Clooney under the pointy-eared cowl, with Chris O'Donnell returning as Robin the Boy Wonder. This time the dynamic duo is up against the nefarious Mr Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who is bent on turning the world into an iceberg, and the slyly seductive but highly toxic Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman), who wants to eliminate all animal life and turn the Earth into a gigantic greenhouse. Alicia Silverstone lends a hand as Batgirl, and Elle McPherson plays the thankless role of Batman/Bruce Wayne's fiancèe. A sensory assault of dazzling colours, senseless action and lavish sets run amok, this IBatman Robin/I offers an overdose of eye candy, but it is strictly for devoted Bat-o-philes. --IJeff Shannon, Amazon.com/I

Ok it's bad in every cinematic way, but it is interesting to viewBatman (Clooney) and Robin (O'Donnell) try to catch the ice man Mr Freeze (Schwarzenegger) whilst trying to trust each other.

br /The forth Batman film in almost a decade brought about a new Batman in the form of George Clooney (Syriana) and the return of Joel Schumacher for his follow up to the successful Batman Forever. Schumacher's first shot at the Batman was to take away the darkness of Tim Burton's genius and use the story and action in an easy approachable viewing for the entire family and whereas this is appropriate to generate profits and make it more accessible for anyone, it takes away the darkness and imagination of Burton's first two smashes and ultimately leaves the film awkward, unappreciative of realism and lacking a killer thrust, much like his 1997 picture.
br /
br /Like his previous adaptation of the comic book, Schumacher uses two villains in this picture, Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy. Using more than one villain can work as evident with The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 3. So cast excellent menacing looking Schwarzenegger and manipulative Thurman for two vindictive and demoralizing villains and you have a film, well sort of.
br /
br /Never have Batman villains ever been so dull and predictable. Flat, boring and ordinary there is nothing to separate them and though obviously poor it is down to a script so woeful it is almost laughable.
br /
br / The characters are addressing the audience rather than the other protagonists in the scene. They are explaining every single little thing, as if we are dumb enough not to comprehend and so, we are left with some exceptionally awkward dialogue and sickly moments in the context of a film that tries to preach about trust, honour and disease.
br /
br /The costumes are as comic as the ridiculous script with the depiction of Gotham equally farfetched. What is disappointing also is the fact that solutions to problems seem so easy. The weapons, gadgets and vehicles just seem so obvious and yet so unrealistic. They are as cheesy as Robin's continuous catchphrases.
br /
br /However despite the bad reviews and criticism this film has received it is not all doom and gloom. Clooney is an interesting Batman, there are some finely choreographed fights, (a few not all) and there is a fine bike racing montage that is to watch out for. The Alfred sub story is also quite touching.
br /
br /But these are almost forgettable once the ending roles around and you are left with memories of a film that justifies the family viewing tag with some action figures who explain everything for you, some ridiculous costumes and a plot that is simply paper thin

Surprisingly Good!! Not Batman as we know him, but Batman as we knew him...I have to say, I bought this film for all the wrong reasons; I was collecting all 7 of the Batman movies, and kinda needed it...but more importantly, everything i had read of it hallmarked it as the "worst superhero film of all time". I very strongly disagree.
br /It is cheesy. Its a little stupid in places. The costumes are ludicrous, the villains are mental (in a different way to the norm), the anatomical correctness of the costumes is a little disturbing and the dialogue can be almost painful in places - but I loved every minute of it! Its not the dark hero portrayed by Michael Keaton and Christian Bale, its a nod back to the days of Adam West, Burt Ward and endless cheesy goodiness! It is very heavy on the special-effects side of things, and admittedly The Terminator is a little OTT in places, but it is still an excellent film!
br /If you appreciate the dafter things in life, and like a good bit of escapism this comes highly recommended! Not for the serious-at-heart though! I love this film!

Complete papThere is not much that is good about this film. The music is over powering, the dialogue is predictable- cliched and contrived, the costumes and makeup are cheap and basic with lots of paint around the eyes.
br /
br /The believeability is non existant, the character depth is non existant the lighting and stage builds are cheap and the batcave and all its gadgets are poor. The bat mobile has big bat wings that jiggle about and there is a pointless column of blue flame ejecting from behind that serves no purpose whatsoever as the car never seems to go beyond 15mph.

Not as bad as everyone saysI gotta say this movie aint the worst movie ever but it aint the best either. From most review the reviewer will say this movie sucks because the Batsuit has nipples and Batman mentions Superman and has a Bat credit card. George Clooney isnt that good as Batman but Chris O Donnel is good at being Robin. Arnie as mr freeze is just great fun i mean everyone will disagree with this but i rather like his jokes theyre good fun at times theyre only hated because they have something to do with ice. Anyway this film great for kids and good if your not a hard core Batman fan like me. So all in all i say if your a hard core Bat fan ignore this film but if not its OK
