Watch it for the history, but enjoy it for the fun
These shorts are among the first Superman cartoons ever produced, and for that fact alone they are worth a look. The Fleischer Studios put a lot of work into these shorts, and it pays off well - but keep in mind that they are from the early forties and will not be to the standard you might expect from modern cartoons. There isn't an awful lot of dialogue (being the first visual representations of Superman outside of the comics, they focussed on the visual elements) but listen carefully to the voices as they are the same actors who protrayed the Man of Steel in the radio series. In a sense, you have two historical occasions for the price of one: The first version of Superman on screen voiced by the first man to ever 'play' Superman. Oh, and did I mention they were simple (don't think to hard), honest fun?
