A humourous, sensitive and creative view of disability
this is one of the few films I have seen with disabled people in mainstream acting roles. The subject matter is dealt with in humourous ways, an example is a situation where people with downs syndrome are seen riding, horse back over a hill in mongolian costume! Issues of difference and disability are handled with sensitivity, humour and lots of energy, a very creative film!

Stunning performance by Daniel Auteuil.
One of my all-time favourite movies. Daniel Auteuil is always good, but here he is outstanding. Several difficult subjects are treated: Down's syndrome, personal responsibility, divorce, selfishness. It sounds depressing, but the overall effect is uplifting and inspiring. Not to be seen in a public place if you are embarrassed to show your emotions.
