my 2 yr old loved watching the video- she was already interested in the alphabet and as her nursery follows the letterland system we borrowed a video from them. she enjoyed watching it and knows all the letters names in a much shorter time than sitting playing games with me learning them. now when we go out if she sees a sign with a 'd' she'll tell me that she's seen a 'dippy duck'. i've found it a very good teaching aid, it may not look up to the minute to me, but she doesn't care about that, she just enjoys spotting the letters. consequently i'm online today to buy both letterland videos, as we kept the nursery one too long and have had to return it!

A huge disappointment
I was looking for an entertaining video about the alphabet for my 2-year old and when I saw the 2 positive reviews of this one, combined with the low price, thought we would give it a try. But it was extremely disappointing. My son lost interest after a few minutes. The animation was amatuerish--you can't even tell who is speaking. The fact that the characters had the letters printed on them was lost on him. There was no catchy music, nothing to engage him.

Visit Letterland again and again and again - adults beware
Visit letterland and be introduced to Detective Dippy Duck while he looks for the Quarrelsome Queen's Quilt. If you have never experienced letterland with your children this is a great introduction, especially as the system appears to be being used in a number of schools to teach the alphabet(at least here in Ireland). It encourages the learning of the alphabet while at the same time telling a story that appeals to my 2 year old. It is one of his favorite video's and hence the title as you will continually be asked to play it time and time again.
I now know all of the characters by heart and what each does which I suppose will help in the future if asked!

Super sleuth storyline which is a hit with our kids
The dippy duck video is a hit with our 22 month boy and it even catches the interest of our 14 week old! Our son constantly asks for it to be put on, and he is learning the characters very quickly (along with the alphabet too!). The video is bright, colourful and has catchy tunes which summarises the plot at the end of each scene. It's great educational fun and we would recommend it to all parents of young children.
