AWESOME FUNKY ALBUM, A COLLECTORS TREAT
Rasputin Stash were originally a larger eight piece but cut down to a 4 piece when this album came out (1974) but it still sounds like early Kool and the Gang which believe me is a good thing. There are also a load of unreleased tracks plus a single each from 77 and 78.Originally released on curtis mayfield's Gemigo label and produced by leroy hutson, when the label fell apart later in 74 the band never got the support they deserved (but are still playing in one shape or another) and basically disapeared to all intents and purposes. The killer cut is Hit It and Pass It, funky and funny as hell!!But Middle Man and Booty March are right behind it. Apart from funk there is also a disco and soulful undercurrent which adds to rather than detracts from this funkalicious rare re-issue. BUY IT NOW IT WONT BE AROUND FOREVER!!!!!!
