A neglected modern jazz masterpiece.
Trumpeter Jan Allan's '70' is a Swedish modern jazz classic that's almost unknown outside of Scandinavia but certainly deserves to be rescued from obscurity. The six wonderful tracks recorded in 1968/69 include three impressive big band scores by pianist/composer Nils Lindberg, 'Polka With Trumpet', 'Ballad For Trumpet' 'Rolf Billberg In Memoriam'. br /Anyone who loves Miles Davis' 'Miles Ahead' will appreciate this beautiful album which should be part of any serious modern jazz collection.
