cos if it's not overbooked, it's not wcw
This PPV is average but as was typical in wcw, they had a regime change just prior to a ppv (seriously they did this about five times) and for some reason bischoff and russo decided to do away with the storylines that fans knew about and in place was some stupid worked shoot stuff that was confusing to just about everyone. As a result they merely vacated all the titles as a very lazy way to try and spike ppv buy rates and set up a millionaire's club vs new blood feud. There are 16 match on this event the only one worth seeing are Sting vs Booker T Sting vs Vampiro Vampiro vs Kidman (esp for the hulk hogan angle) and DDP vs Jeff Jarrett Oh and if you like to see coherent finishes in your wrestling this is definitely not the event for you.
Things I noted by watching wcw march-april 2000
1 If you steal a referee's shirt, you are now the referee for the match.
2 You can win a tag match by turning on your opponent and pinning him
3 wcw bookers always put their best friends in the main event and bury people they don't like
4 if you hit women with guitarsd they will help you win the world title
5 buff bagwell, shane douglas, scott steiner and jeff jarrett are new blood of wcw?
6 if you ask your employer to release you from your contract, then sue them when they comply, you will not only be rehired but promoted cough shane douglas cough

oh dear
This really was the beginnig of the end for wcw, if you prefer storylines and script work rather than real wrestling buy this if not, stay away. 14 matches is just too many for a 3 hour event and vince russo and eric bischoff tryin to start a new era, it was all just too desperate. I mean, any ppv with a 'suicide' match, lets just leave it at that.

WCW Spring Stampede 2000: The Bischoff and Russo Era
WCW Spring Stampede 2000 will long be remembered for being the first pay-per-view where Bischoff and Russo worked as a team. And fair play to both men, the show is great, much better than the WWF's Backlash show of the same month. Critics argue that there were too many matches, too many twists, too many turns. They may have a point. But on the whole this event is awesome.

There are a few bad matches (Jimmy Hart VS Mancow is the worst), but most of the bouts are very entertaining, especially the ones involving Sting and Jeff Jarrett. Spring Stampede did exactly what it said on the tin. It delivered action and excitement all the way and should go down a treat with real WCW fans.

Really poor start to the Ruschoff era
Spring Stampede 2000 was the beginning of the end for WCW. Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff threw together this show at the last minute, and it shows. The performance from DDP and JJ in the main event is apalling. However, that is clearly the rule for the entire show. Anyone who likes actual wrestling, mixed with good storylines, is in for a major disappointment here. Howver, if you like Mancow vs. Jimmy Hart, LOTS of Scott Steiner, and various non-endings, then this is the show for you.
