Watch it in Japanese with English subtitleI love this anime, it's full of beautiful artwork and music. But I must say the English dubbing is badly scripted; they have often left out essential words and added some words seemingly to make it more dramatic, which is absolutely unnecessary. They have also added extra background sounds and voices in the English dubbing, which contributes to the loss of stylishness in the original Japanese version.pThe English subtitle is much more faithful to the orignal Japanese and I would strongly recommend anyone to watch this anime in Japanese with English subtitle.

Samurai XThese episodes are fantastic. They ARE violent-but the violence for me was always a side line to the emotional journey that Kenshin is going on-the story makes perfect sense and is indepth, betrayal, romance, inner conflict, its all here. The fact that Kenshin is so effective and swordsman and killer, yet he really does not like to kill people, this shows that he is a good person, but fights for what he belives is right. pThis is an all round great anime production, and I would strongly recommend it to any and everyone.

Please release the seriesTrust and Betrayal together form a kind of prequel to the Rurouni Kenshin series which is a very popular manga series inexplicably practically unknown here in England - however one of the characters from it Sagara Sanosuke still manages to appear on a lot of clothing!pWhile the series is light hearted and fun, the prequels are much darker and sombre in tone. They are the sort that you actually have to watch and pay great attention to in order to follow and enjoy, true there are gory fight scenes, but it is more the story of Kenshin's emotional journey.pIt is worth seeing though just for Hiko, Kenshin's philosophical master, and the Shinsen Gumi, especially Saitou. Cool. Damn straight.

Simply awsomeBasicly Samuria X - Trust is the first of the two DVD's of the whole short series.brThe Samuria X series is a sort of prequel to Rorouni kenshin,a very popular anime in america (but sadfully unknown in england). However as Rorouni kenshin is light hearted and funny at times ,Samuria X is deadly serios and with considerable violence. The 15 cerificate is well earned.brTrust has the first 2 episodes which go into kenshins past and how he became what he is.Theres plently of action and the sequences are done pretty well, and are finised very quickly and gorily.Throughout this it still manages to get in plenty of charecter development in ,though its really setting it up for the second DVD which is a lot less action packed and more emotional.pAll in all however, you really need to see both DVDs (the second not released in England ,just yet)To truely understand and get the best out of the series.

AmazingThis is a great anime, for those of you that dont know is like a pre story too a series called Rurouni Kenshin (unreleased in uk) it is split in four episodes 2 on this dvd 2 on samurai x betreyal (not released here yet) In my opinion this is great especially being able to watch it in its original japanese.pAnd just to clear this up for you declan, manga entertainment just publishes videos this is just as much of an anime as akira or guyver, it was just published under a different company.pThe main reason i posted this review is that i dont want people put off by the previous review because this is an amazing dvd. pAlthough one thing is the special features are mainly just text which is kind of dull.
