A fun way to learn the alphabet
My 2 1/2 year old is just getting interested in letters, and since she loves Maisy I thought this would be a good way to help her learn. The first day she watched this video she asked to watch it again twice! It's really well designed -- for each letter the upper case and lower case letter come onto the screen, and Neil Morrissey says both the letter's name and its sound. Then it switches over to a little story in which 2 or 3 words beginning with that sound are illustrated, and spelled out at the bottom of the screen. The little stories are fun and sometimes overlap into the next letter of the alphabet. My personal favourite is the train that shows S and T -- with cute snakes that roll into the train and jumping frogs whose eyes remain visible when the train goes into a tunnel. The letter X is illustrated in a very creative way too, not the usual boring xylophone, but "x is in excited and excuse me". At the end of the video, as the credits roll, all the letters of the alphabet appear again with a little animated illustration showing one of the items that began with that letter that was in the video, so if you're watching with your child this is a good chance to repeat all the letters and their sounds over again.

Great abc Video for pre-school children!
My children are brought up in German and were only really exposed to English when they started nursery school, so video is proof that kids can actually learn quite a lot from a good educational video like this one, whilst having lots of fun.

I think Maisy in general is particularly suitable for 2-3 year olds although my 4-year-old still likes watching Maisy videos.

All Maisy videos I know are really nice, so look out for other ones as well. The voice of the narrator is pleasant and calm and the music unobstrusive. However, this video, Maisy's ABC, is the one to choose if you want your kids not just entertained, but get them to learn something.

Very colourful !!
Children find Maisy stories very colourful and somehow they keep watching for a long time. The words are easy, the sentences are short and easy to understand and it has an amazing way to make the children learn the colours, letters and numbers. It is also good that it has two different episodes, so kids expect anxiously the next episode to watch. It also teaches them values such as friendship, help others and teamwork, very important in our times.

Highly recommended for young toddlers
My daughter of 19 months is enthralled with 'Maisy's ABC'. The video is both entertaining and educational teaching letters of the alphabet as well as new vocabulary. She will actually sit trough the whole video which is very unusual!!
