Instrumental music a la Vangelis & JMJ
Ok, so this may not be exactly like either Vangelis or Jean-Michel Jarre but fans of these two artists should enjoy this offering from Lynne. At least six very good tracks is a fine return on any album, and there are none here which are unbearable, though some are a little twee in places.
But tracks like 12th Warrior, Himalayan Summit and Space Deliria are hugely enjoyable instrumental music and Session manages to surprise with its laid-back jazzy feel.
This one has hardly been out of my CD player since I bought it. Highly recommended.

Symphonie Fantastique
If you've ever wondered why Bjorn Lynne's old pseudonym was Dr. Awesome, look no further than this album. It would be best to describe this sound as 'Vangelis on steroids', but that wouldn't do justice to the amazing originality of the Lynne style that seems to echo everyone from the Pet Shop Boys to Ritchie Blackmore. To make it clear how stunning these tracks are, bear in mind: they were fantastic pieces when played on a four-channel 16-bit home computer. Rerecorded and re-everythinged in the studio, with searing guitars, REVIVE leaves most instrumental projects in the dust. Lynne may have left behind his old style of composing - but this is probably his most accessible album to date, and if you've never heard his music before: this is the one to buy.
