Bizzy Bone at his bestAlthough this is Bizzy Bone's second release, it could be said that it is his first real album, with "Heaven'z Movie" only really containing 8 full-length tracks ("Social Studies" sounding more like a bonus track, and 4 tracks only a minute long). Now nearly 4 years since its release, "The Gift" has cemented itself as a Bone classic. Bizzy touches on a wide range of topics; crime, women, politics, religion, drugs and many personal issues such as his troubles with other Bone Thugs members, his contract with Ruthless Records, and his childhood.
Instead of giving in to the temptation of throwing guest rappers on each track, this is a true solo effort with an hour of Bizzy controlling the mic himself. Standout tracks are "Never Grow", "Time Passing Us By" and the single "Father", and the lightning quick flow makes it so you can't help but listen intently to the rhymes. Bizzy presents his unique take on the world, and there's very little of the dull braggadocio that so many rappers fill their albums with. Bizzy raises questions about life in the ghetto and life in America in general, ("If they can stop Saddam from selling missiles, why are we saturated with pistols?"). The song "Fried Day" was off the Next Friday soundtrack and although it was hot at the time, it lacks the depth in the lyrics that many of the other tracks have. Bizzy Bone was thrown into showbusiness at a young age, and has a lot to say about his trials and tribulations, whilst mentioning God and Christianity a lot more than on his earlier recordings. Staying true to form, the last track is an unconventional gospel/ ballad tune dedicated to Jesus, which only someone like Bizzy could pull off.
All in all, I would recommend this album to anyone who likes Bone Thugs or indeed anyone who likes music. It may be a bit hard to digest if you're not familiar with Bizzy's style, but this album far surpasses the large majority of other hip hop releases of this millennium in terms of artistry, lyrics and insight.

the best bizzy bone album to datethis is the 2nd album by bizzy bone, he is one of the main members of the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony which includes Krayzie Bone, L Burna - Layzie Bone, Wish Bone and Flesh Bone.
If you bought Bizzy's 1st album and felt a little disappointed with the lack of songs/tracks above 2 mins, then fear not as the album has 14 songs/tracks.
I wont go into detail about every track but i must say i am highly impressed by most of the tracks. Only Schizophrenic, voices in the head and still thuggish ruggish are the tracks that couldnt grow on me the rest of the tracks are absolutely brilliant.
According to the amazon there are only 2 left - BUY IT NOW NOT BOTH JUST 1 OF THEM YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED AT ALL.

A gift to Hip-Hop fansFor those of u not familiar with Bizzy Bone, he is one of the five members of Bone Thugs~n~Harmony, for those of u not familiar with Bone u got the wrong page. Bizzy has a distinctive style of rap, like the rest of Bone his lyrical delivery is lightning quick, his voice is high pitched and its clarity varies between melodies and groans. To the untrained ear its easy to understand how his style can be off putting, however u are doing urself a great mis-justice as he really has a lot worth listening to. First off Bizzy really delivers his raps from the soul, he deals with strong social/spiritual issues while remaining raw and true to Bone's original sound. He unlike a lot of todays rap artists is a good singer dispite his constant high noted sound, which in turn only adds to his originality. His combintion of melodic sounds and lightining quick raw flows makes him, in my opinion, one of the most original Hip Hop artists to date. The Gift, Bizzy's second album really confirms this. I wont go through the track listing saying what every track is about and why i like it, I leave that up to u. The album carries something for everyone, there something for everyone relate to. Wether its the chilled out tracks or the harder hitting ones, they each carry a strong message. It's an album in ur collection that will really stand out. Unfortunatley for Bizzy Bone he had to release the album independently so its got no media attention in the USA so it probably unheard of here in the UK. So do urself a favour, import it! U'll see my point then, then tell everyone about it so Bizzy gets the sales he deserves! HIP HOP FANS BUY THIS ALBUM!
