Coming 15 years after the release of Aliens, this soundtrack edition was well worth the wait. Fans of Horner's gung-ho militaria for Ripley and the troops will be delighted with the excellent sound quality of this new digital mix. It's crisp and clear with a snap to the stride of the ever-present snare drums, and allows unsettling depth to the low brass. Fans will also drool at the wealth of additional material that boosts the running time to one-and-a-quarter hours. Ripley's "Bad Dreams", meeting "Newt", their one-on-one with the "Facehuggers", and the all-important confrontati on with "The Queen" are now here. On top of that, there are five bonus tracks totalling 12 minutes of fascinating alternatives that might have been. Fans will probably know that director James Cameron cut and pasted the music; this is how it should have sounded. With that in mind, the only thing the you'll miss is the final version of "Combat Drop" that's in the film. Horner didn't do it! WELL IT,S HERE AT LONG LAST! THE COMPLETE SCORE FROM JAMES HORNER OF TITANIC AND MASK OF ZORRO FAME, THE ORIGNAL RELEASE OF THIS SCORE GOES WAY BACK TO 1986, EVEN THEN IT WAS NOT COMPLETE, UNTIL NOW, JAMES HORNER IS ON TOP FORM WITH ONE, AND THANKS TO THE FINE EFFORTS OF THE LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, THE MUSIC REALLY COMES TO LIFE, WITH TRACKS LIKE BAD DREAMS AND LV-426, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS ONE, IT,S A GREAT SCORE.

Deluxe Edition sends Aliens fans into hyperspace!
It's about time! The original soundtrack album featured a woeful 9 tracks of Horner's claustrophobic Aliens music. A very rare special edition was released featuring extra tracks... but now in this Deluxe Edition, all that extra music is here and more besides!! Fans will love the additions - including the signature marine drumrolling spectacle as the dropship lands on the LV426 planet. There is also the haunting echo of Ripley's nightmare in the gently brooding Bad Dreams.

The music is just as exciting as the film and shows James Horner in his finest hour. If you love Aliens, you will LOVE this Deluxe Edition.

A must for any Hive!
