Editorial reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
On Tha Last Meal, Snoop proves that all the glitter isn't gone from his golden throat. He's so secure that he even dips into crooning on the so-fresh-and-so-clean "Leave Me Alone". But it largely achieves its smoothness through worn-leather raps delivered with pimp savoir-faire and production--supplied by Dr Dre, Timbaland, Meech Wells and others--that swaps the charisma-free bounce of Snoop's last two albums for an up-tempo, newly enthused sound. The glee is echoed in Snoop's rhymes. "I'm in a three-piece suit looking too cute" Snoop gloats on "Stacey Adams". "Go Away" serves as the Dogg's new position statement, on which he belligerently proclaims "I'm too young to retire, I'm having fun with it / See, when you learn what to do with it, I'll be done with it." Indeed, it'll take a nation of haters to keep Snoop down, something that Snoop nods to on "True Lies," which features the boldest player of all, President Bill Clinton. With even the prez doing dirt, it's clear the game still isn't to be told. --Jon Caramanica

I absoloutely LOVE THIS!
I haven't really ever been a huge fan of Snoop, until i heard tha last meal. It is AMAZING! I haven't got Doggystyle, i know people say that's the classic snoop album, but i can't imagine it being better than this! Snoop spits fire on this No Limit release, i've always admired Master P's skills as both a rapper and a buisnessman, his rapping skills come clear on the best joint on the album, the Dre produced Back Up Off Me, with Snoop, Master P and Mister Majic doing a fantastic song. All the songs on here are just amazing and i never get tired off them, the beats are great, the lyrics are great, and at the same time the album manages to sound really unique, and the one of the best Snoop albums ever!
A classic west coast album, and this should be classed as the best Snoop album, essential!!!!

The Last Meal
The album signals the end of Snoop's spell with No Limit and it comes across as a farewell album, even though its far from his best work it aint that bad in fact i'd only say one track is particularly bad and thats track 8 Stacey Adams which i dont rate at all. The best tracks are 2 - Hennesey & Buddah, 7 - Set It Off, 9 - Lay Low, and 12 - Issues. Overall i give the album 7/10

Not the best Snoop album .....
I have had this album quite a while & have just written a review for the Topp Dogg album so thought I'd write a review on this one.

Their is some good tracks on this album, my favourite being the albums starting track "Buddah & Hennesey", which i find very funky (kinda a little bit of the G-Funk era), & of course "Whats My Name - Part II" is a classic tracka aswell, though some of the other tracks do sound like fill in tracks really.

It's not however a bad album & if you love Snoop, you will like this album ... though if your not a massive Snoop fan, then go for Doggystyle or Top Dogg (Of which refers to some of the Doggystyle material (check out Nate Dogg doing "Ain't No Fun" on the track "Don't Tell" on the "Top Dogg" album)), it's a good album to have to go in your Snoop collection .... though it's not his best, so if your new to Snoop then you want to get some of the other albums first.

Hope this has been of help to some buyers ...
