Thug on Da Line is Krayzie Bone's follow-up to his smash solo hit IThug Mentality 1999/I. It paints a picture of life on the streets in a manner that's so cinematic that it would work well as a film score. Musically heavy on eerie keyboard riffs and ambient sound, of the album's most accessible songs originate from well-known samples. "Hard Time Hustlin'" is an unexpected extrapolation of Sade's "Feel No Pain" while "Time After Time," which sounds like vintage Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, coasts on Heavy D. the Boyz's slow jam "Don't You Know." While the "thug life" mindset is getting pretty played out, the code of the streets is reality for some and Krayzie's vision is more subtle, melodic, and thoughtful than that of many of his peers. good krayzie bone album

not nearly as thuggish ruggish as the last...
Following the huge success of his THUG Mentality 1999, KB took another walk down the solo album road to release Thug On Da Line.brLess heavier than THUG Mentality 1999, Thug On Da Line offers a deeper insight into what KB has to say on his situation after so much success as a solo Bone…pY’all Don’t Know MebrThis is the opening track beginning with a unique sound… because the acclaimed LT Hutton produced the beat to it. The song is a dig at how since his last release so many clones have come along and the attention from people claiming they know himpRide The Thug Line brThis is the first song on the CD to feature some of KB’s new Thugline artists. Their verses come off fine but coz KB is introducing his new clique you have to wait 3 verses until you get to hear himbrDope soundspCan’t Hustle ForeverbrThe whole mood changes to something downbeat and slower, the intro of the song is accompanied by thunder and the song tells about KB’s struggle as a thug, caught up where he cant give up otherwise he faces failure. Lareece and Young Dre also tell their thoughts. Works out nicepTalk To Myself brIMO the best track on the CD.brKicks in with an RnB feel and the chorus with Tiffany and KB. brThe song is very deep and the chorus is true KB soul as he tells of the loneliness of being a thug. The flow and the singing are balanced perfectly to make a class song. Great lead out to the song also. pA Thugga Level brThis song turns up the tempo from the last as a great club banger. Both Boss and KB tear up their verses as each contributes to theirs and finishes lines etc, although because of that its only two verses. A good duet.pDa ThugzbrIrv Gotti had some input producing this track.brYou will either like it or hate is as “Da THUGS” is repeated after every bar, which makes it a skipper trackpIf Only The Knew brThis RnB song uses Michael Jackson’s ‘Girlfriend’ as the chorus, but put to better use. A harmonious flow from KB from the verses to the hook with Lareece makes this a very good song.brThis is a love triangle type story about creeping with someone else’s girl. At just above 3 minutes you’ll still find time to appreciate this songpI Don’t Give A F***brGood step to it with some brass loops accompanyingbrThe song is like and opposite to Y’all Don’t Know Me, now he doesn’t care anymore, biters and clones matter not. Good, but not great.
Being a follow up to Thug Mentality 1999, I was rather disappointed as Thug on da line is not a hard hittin album dat his previous one was. Don't get me wrong this album is well worth the purchase for any hip hop fan. It's just that with Krazie Bones ability, he can do a much better solo effort then this. Another down side to the album are the amount of guest appearences in the album. Nearly all songs include another ThugLine artist, a plain Krayzie Bone album with a few guest appearences would have went down great!pHighlights of the album:pCan't Hustle 4 EverbrTalk to myselfbrThugga LevelbrHard time hustlinbrGeminibrEverbody wanna be thugspFav track from album: Gemini, Krayzie fights with good and evil throughout the track, well worth the listen.pOverall, a very decent album and well worth the purchase.

This album is so good that its krazie!!!
After listening to his first album i thought that it would be hard to make another album that was just as good or even better, but i was wrong this album is even better, the best song is hard time hustlin on which krazie bone raps about growing up and providing money for his poor family its a song which shows real emotion. other good songs on the album are ya'll dont know me and rollin up some mo. The album also has excellent production from the neptunes and damizza and also features thugline artists ( krazie's record label) the best of which are the kneight rideuz. This is a must have for anybody's CD collection, go out and buy it u wont be dissapointed i promise you!
