Not a great first album if you're new to Gackt.
Gackt gets better with age but never underestimate the old stuff.brIt has been several years since Gackt first released this album but it is still a work of art.brAs with all Gackt albums the mood of the piece is set with the first song.br'4th' is mostly instrumental, with a decidedly german undertone, incorporating Gackt's ability to sail effortlessly over a barage of noise. His angelic vocals lift you up just where he wants you.brMoving on his album almost tells the story of his life... Having written most of this in hospital recovering from pneumonia he tells of struggles, loves won and lost and moving on to newer and better things.brAs with all his albums there is a mix of styles (all within the Rock genre) from his usual heavier rock to the subtle and melodious. He also ventures into Pop-land once or twice.brNot the best album for newcomers to Gackt, I suggest Crescent or Diabolos but deffinately not one to leave from your collection.brMy favourate songs?brUncontrol - A very rock songbrSekirei ~Seki-Rei~ - A beautiful melodybrand Kimi no Tame ni Dekiru Koto - An uplifting end.brFantastic Album!!!
Rebirth is Gackt's second album, and is probably my third favorite out of them all. This album includes:p1. 4th...br2. Secret Gardenbr3. Mariabr4. uncontrolbr5. Sekirei ~seki-rei~br6. Kalmiabr7. Sayonarabr8. marmaladebr9. Papa lapped a pap loppedbr10. sevenbr11. Kimi no Tame ni Dekiru Kotop"Seki-rei" is a beautiful track, one of my favorites, about someone who doesn't have much strength but has given everything they have to help the ones they love. "Kalmia" is another favorite off this album, with darkly beautiful undertones. seven is also a good track on this album.pThat said, "4th..." grates on my nerves a bit, and I can't stand "Papa lapped a pap lopped".pOverall, it's a good album and I definetely recommend it. For newer Gackt fans though, I'd more highly recommend his newest album, Crescent. It's his best so far.
