2001 and Liverpool are prizewinners... again. It's been a long time coming, but Houllier has conjured up a historic feat, and Liverpool--the Treble--Season review 2000-2001 is a must for any self respecting LFC fan. In a never-to-be-forgotten season the team captured an unprecedented cup treble, alongside the small matter of a Champions League qualification for the first time, after all "Liverpool without European football is like a banquet without wine!"--Roy Evans.

It is all here, pre-season highlights and all the highs (and some lows) that the 2000-2001 season provided. The action starts straight away as there 63 games to get through. But never fear, as the action is such that you hardly notice you have been sitting there for 120 minutes. The games are constant throughout, broken up now and then with quick interviews and comments from the team. Before each game, the score is displayed, a slightly annoying feature as it would be served better if displayed after the game. For the statisticians amongst us, LFC failed to score on just eight occasions, but were successful 127 times. Statistics that clearly dispel the unfounded claims of certain critics who dubbed Liverpool "boring". The video also concentrates on the current crop of Liverpool stars (the new "Liverpool Legends") as they eclipse the goal scoring achievements of some great moments from the club's past. You get the sense that the players are focused on the same goals and judging from their interviews they have certainly shed the "Spice Boys" tag they were once labelled with. There is most definitely hope now in the hearts of the Reds... --Sukhy Dhillon

Liverpool FC - The Most Successful British Football Team Ever! - And That's Official
One of Liverpool's greatest ever seasons is provided here. 63 games, 127 goals, 3 cups - what more can you say!

Highlights include the smash-and-grab FA Cup Final victory against Arsenal, the greatest ever UEFA Cup Final in which Liverpool overcame Alaves 5-4 and, in a season of trebles, the sweetest of doubles - victories home and away over Manchester United. And that's not to mention the 8-0 mauling of poor old Stoke City in the League Cup!

In answer to doubters claiming that this was an 'amateur' treble:

Be reminded that Liverpool are the only team to complete two trebles (in 1983/84, they won the League, the League Cup and the European Cup).

Be reminded that Liverpool have won more trophies than any other British team.

Be reminded that Liverpool are the most successful British team in European competition...and this video was made before the Champions League and Super Cup wins in 2005!

A must have for any Liverpool fan.
As a Liverpool fan it would be incredibly hard not to enjoy this DVD. I wasn't around to enjoy Liverpool's past glories but the 2001 season trophy haul is one i'll live to remember. Sure things have changed since then, but it doesn't hurt to look back and remember what truly was a fantastic season.

The DVD includes clips from every game played during the season with slightly longer highlights of the three cup finals. Re-live the edgy Birmingham affair from the Worthington Cup, the best of Michael Owen in the FA Cup Final against Arsenal and simply the most exhilarating match aginst CD Alaves in the UEFA cup final. It won't fail to bring a smile to the face of any true red.

Treble Schmeble
This book is about Liverpool FC's amateur treble. The fact that they didnt win the league, or the champions league, is glaringly omitted.

You're all kidding yourselves
This is a reasonable DVD if you're a Liverpool fan, but to be honest, the entertainment isn't that great.

Liverpool under Houllier are good for grinding out results, but rarely do they excite, preferring instead to rely on a solid defence, and long balls for Owen to run on to. Moments of true quality are few and far between, but I'm sure fans will be happy enough just seeing their team win a few games.

That said, these victories aren't as monumental as the folk from Anfield would like us to believe. They may have won the FA Cup, but let's face it, the Worthington Cup is losing value rapidly these days, to such an extent that most top teams don't field their 1st XI, and the UEFA Cup is a competition for Champions League failures, its primary purpose just to generate a bit of extra cash. The makers of this DVD really were scraping the barrel when they came up with the title. As every football fan outside of Merseyside knows, there is only "Treble": The Premiership, Champions League and FA Cup.

Recommended for Liverpool fans... everyone else should think twice!

Greatest season sice 85/86
At long last a season to be proud of. This must have video from last season chronicles all the matches with all the goals plus a few interviews with players, fans and the coaching staff.

Enjoy those magical moments at Cardiff and Dortmund all over again.

Best (funniest) moment = watching some female fan stating that Westerveld was player of the season!
