two stars if you aint a street fighter fan
Pretty animation and a plot that has bigger holes than a sumo's pants.

The only Street Fighter Anime/Movie worth watching ...
Along with the awful Hollywood Movie , there are also a bunch of streetfighter animes / anime movies besides this ..... but I personally think this is the only one really worth watching. ( It also seems to be the most faithful adaption in accordance to the games )

It has great cel and animation quality ( Not the bright and colourful palette you expect from typical anime ... the colours are more real/pale ) , along with a pumping soundtrack. It has amazing chreography when it comes to fight scenes. Plotwise , not much can be said really , except it's based on a fighting game , so what can you expect ?

But it's worth watching just for the fights. My rating is mainly for people who enjoyed playing Street Fighter alot in their youth and want to see a movie that does it justice.

Add a star if you are a huge Streetfighter fan though ( All your favourite characters come to life , blood and all! ) or take away a Star if you have no interest in Streetfighter.

Either way it's a solid title that's still a satisfying fight ( animated ) movie to watch.

Brilliant movie, brilliant plot, brilliant animation. I have watched it a million times and i love it. Must buy. BUY IT, WACTH IT, SMILE, THEN WATCH IT AGAIN.

King of all Street Fighter Films
Firstly, if you enjoyed playing the game then you should almost certainly buy this. Even without any signs of a tournament, it is much closer to the game than its successors which came all to close to Dragonball Z and made Ryu's Hadoken stronger than his upper-cut move (the name slips my mind).
Contrary to what you may have heard Chun Lee's shower scene has been edited to remove nudity since after the film's original release and outwith Japan is still cut down to show no more than a brief shot of her breasts (itself ommited from most versions), despite the certificate I would be happy for an eight-year-old to watch this film.
Whilst all characters from SFII fight in this film and most use their signature moves (although a "hundred hand slap" is lacking) the fights are largely shown in close-up view, making them difficult to follow. The only other downfall is a shortage of fighting, with only around twenty or thirty minutes at the most present in the film. Luckily, however, most DVD players have fast-forward funcions.

i am a big fan of the games and manga in general street fighter 2 is a genuine epic even though its based on a game dont let other shocking films like tombraider influence your decision this is an excellent animation in its own right street fighter alpha on the other hand should be avoided like the plague it really really sucks and kills of any joy you hold for anything street fighter it feels like a beyblade or pokemon sort of anime and is impossible to take seriously
