IWanderland/I is the follow-up to Kelis' massively successful debut, IKaleidoscope/I. Easily the most original and exciting thing to happen to RB in 2000, IKaleidoscope /Igave new meaning to the word attitude, pairing the unique sci-fi bleeps and beats of production duo The Neptunes, with the big haired singer's own, very individual, innocent/psychotic persona. Subsequently The Neptunes, under the guise of NERD, released their own spectacular debut album, IIn Search Of/I, and worked similar magic for Britney Spears. That both projects bore so many of Kelis' trade marks, not only illustrated what a major hand the duo had in Kelis' identity, it meant that her once edgy sound wasn't edgy anymore. With the same creative backbone, IWanderland/I, understandably, doesn't pack the same fresh punch as its predecessor. It is, however, still a phenomenal album. The clinical computer game backing tracks may be more familiar this time around, but it's to Kelis' credit that she manages to make them her own once again with her screaming aggression and chilling melodies ("Get Even"), childlike vulnerability ("Shooting Stars", "Digital World", "Mr UFO Man") and street savvy defiance ("Popular Thug", "Daddy", "Junkie"). In snarling single "Young, Fresh 'n' New", there's enough sleazy futuristic funk and attention-grabbing attitude to keep Kelis a safe distance ahead of RB's rank and file. --IDan Gennoe/I

Lacks variety...go for Tasty instead
As with Kaleidoscope this suffers from having only one production team for the whole album. Outside of their N.E.R.D. material, the Neptunes computer-generated beats are pretty samey, resulting in this album lacking the variety of Kelis' latest, 'Tasty'. Aside from that, though, Kelis has a good voice and 'Little Suzie' is one of my favourite tracks of recent times.

Kelis
I thought that Kaledoscope had to be one of the best albums in 2000.She had re-invented urban music and changed it to sumthing Fun,Fresh original With the the guidence of Pharrell Williams no wonder she's one of the best.Although very under-rated as frm the likes of the Beyoncé's the Ashanti's of this worldbrKelis is definatly one of the most Original p1.Intro / Quite funny 10/10br2.Young,Fresh n New/The whole point i brought this i love this song very Original 10/10br3.Flashback/One of my favourites good beat an cool lyrics 10/10br4.Popular Thug/Remixed on the Neptunes Cd with Nas instead this one has Pusher T Frm the clipse i like this but do prefer the Nas one 10/10br5.Daddy/I think this is so good love the beat to it 10/10br6.Scared Money/Its ok not one of the best 9/10br7.Shooting Stars/I love Kelis but this isnt a good song for her 6/10br8.Digital World/I had to play this a couple of times to actually like it but its cool 10/10br9.Perfect Day/Co-Wrote by Gwen Stefani Very rock sounding song not that good either 3/10br10.Easy come.Easy go/Again not a strong point very poor 2/10br11.Junkie/"Im a Junkie,A junkie for ur love" Here ya good a good song to make up for the other 2 above 10/10br12.Get Even/Its ok Good beat to it 7/10br13.Mr.U.F.O Man/I think this song is funky fresh but very childish 7/10br14.Little Suzie/My bf likes this song the beat is good thats all the lyrics r rubbish 4/10pOverall i would say that Kaledoscope is the better out of the two but Wanderland does have is good points i hope Tasty will be as good as Kaleidoscope Wen its released on December the 9th The single Milkshake is very good

This is Funked up!
I initially went to buy this album but on skiping through the album at a local store(!) i gave it a miss because i wasn't quite sure. How wrong could I have been. I finally took the plunge last week and bought the album.This album is stylish, sassy and has a whole lot of FUNK ozzing from it. Kelis's last album was a masterpiece and as one of the other reviewers has said this is a definite progression from it. Its showing Kelis in a slightly more mature light. brI would have given this album 5/5 but my only fear is that as gr8 as the neptunes are.Im worried they are getting over exposure and sooner or later people are going to get tired of that britney beat!pKelis you're fine, sophisticated and a credit to the music industry.Im waiting with baited breathe for your next album. don't leave us waiting to late cos i may have to ask for a breath mint!!! ;0)

easy listening, yet pretty much the same
Wanderland is a good expansion on what Kelis acheived with Kaleidoscope. Tracks to especially look out for are young, fresh and new, and flashback. Of course with the Neptunes twiddling the knobs, it is a guaranteed hit. I really enjoy listening to this album and even though it is highly reminiscent of Kaliedoscope, Kelis has grown up, to a point where some of the album even sounds like jazz.

A re-invention of R'n'B!
Although Kaleidascope was easily one of the best albums ive ever heard Wanderland comes close!brIts the most different and original thing ive ever listened to and songs such as popular thug just sum up exactly what rnb should be!brKaleidascope in my opinion is better but i think this comes close second!!!!! Keep up the good work!!
