Editorial reviews
Amazon.co.uk ReviewA greatest-hits package sampling four Enigma discs released between 1990 and 2000,
LSD--Love Sensuality Devotion splendidly documents the influential output of Michael Cretu, a techno-bohemian who successfully creates cinematic, otherworldly New Age musical suites. Now, more than a decade removed from the arrival of
Sadeness (Part 1) and its eyebrow-raising mix of sacred and sensual subplots, people can debate whether Cretu's music represents savvy commercial calculation or satisfying art.
LSD suggests a split decision, though tracks with intriguing blends of atmosphere and rhythm, such as "Gravity of Love", "TNT for the Brain" and "Morphing Thru Time", reveal an inventiveness that demonstrates Cretu is capable of more than sophisticated novelty tunes. Two new songs, neither especially noteworthy, open this package. Meanwhile, remastered older tracks segue beautifully to exude a satisfying, seamless unity.--

Perfect for night driving, Perfect CDThis is perfect for those long night drives. Three years later, its still a staggeringly good CD that you just dont get bored of.
A Massive artistic achievement, in a class of its own.

Tantalisingly brilliant!Enigma offer some of the best chillout music of modern times. Their eclectic mix of soothing layer sounds, uplifting vocals and powerful keyboard sounds and synths make this the most unique album there is.
Couple this with real instruments used to breathe life into many of the songs, and you have an album that stirs emotions and lifts you up.
It seems impossible for powerful songs, that contain heavy vocals, passionate lyrics and strong guitar riffs to still somehow calm and sooth the imagination; Enigma do this with tracks such as Gravity Of Love. As an album, if flows beautifully, with nearly 80 minutes of musical genius and great memory stirs.
Then, of course, there are the classics that most people have heard; Return to Innocence, which offers a fantastic cultural aspect into the album, and Sadeness Pt.1, which frankly, is sensational and extremely uplifting.
This is very unique style of chillout music, because it explores their feelings and rekindles others in yourself. I recommend this album to anyone, no matter your music taste, because the tracks do so much more than reach the ears - they stay in the mind for a long time afterwards.

How did I manage to miss out on this for so long?I had heard 2 or 3 Enigma hits in the past and was impressed with the quality of the music and video content. Why I did not investigate them further at the time remains a mystery to me.
Thanx to Annie in the Village for reminding me how good Enigma is.
From the moment this CD dropped through my letter box, I have not stopped playing it. Cretu has been very creative here in blending his own imaginative style with a few samples from Carl Orf, tribal chants etc. The result is outstanding, the music is so spiritual, it touches your soul and engages you from start to finish. I cannot imagine anyone not loving this compilation!

The Best Songs From The Best AlbumsI was never really into this style of music until I began working shifts. I put this CD on and I am guranteed to fall asleep before then end of listening to the first song - not because it is boring, but because it clears your head and the background musics softly soothes!
