This is an excellent little camera, with all the features expected from an APS unit, but built with genuine quality. The metal casing doesn't feel flimsy at all - it's the Mercedes Benz of the APS camera world; flash and superbly put together. The tiny size and weight makes the IXUS II a true portable camera, one that you really don't mind carrying around with you on holiday for those precious snaps.

The point-and-click type of photography this is suited to has been perfected by Canon, so this camera really does come at the top of its class in every possible way. The zoom, while not enormous is enough to magnify specifics, and the night photography is extremely clear - as are closeups. All in all, a superb camera that is worth the money, as things go. If you are planning on spending this kind of money on a camera, however, you might want to consider going digital for the added functionality of an LCD screen to see exactly what your photos look like instantly.
