Amazon.co.ukIt's 20,000 years ago and there's a bit of a nip in the air as the IIce Age/I kicks off. Manfred the well-meaning mammoth, Sid the fast-talking sloth and Diego the duplicitous sabre-tooth tiger form a reluctant and unlikely alliance when they come across a helpless human baby. As they try to return the tot to his migrating tribe, the trio must battle more than just the elements in this harsh world of predators and prey. There's plenty of light relief from the dramatic tension and superb action sequences, notably in the form of the brilliant comic invention Scrat, an apparently insane sabre-tooth squirrel who steals any scene in which he--and his acorn—appear (although a flock of keen but hapless dodos give him a close run for the film's comic laurels). p Featuring the voice talents of Ray Romano, Denis Leary and John Leguizamo, IIce Age/I is a thrilling, chilling comedy adventure that's undeniably cool.p BOn the DVD:/B IIce Age/I on DVD boasts a whole host of special features, including commentary by director Chris Wedge and co-director Carlos Saldhona, deleted scenes and trailers. The highlight of the bonus material is the exclusive short "Scrat's Missing Adventure" but for the real nitty-gritty go to "Under the Ice". This contains numerous featurettes of varying lengths, including "The Making of Ice Age", "Behind the Scenes", "Art of Effects" and "Sid's Voice Development". These tell you pretty well everything there is to know about the film and its creation. For additional humour check out the brief "Scrat Reveals" segment and Sid's commentary sequences. --IHelen Baker/I

OK for small kids and small minded adultsDidn't like this movie at all. Very unintelligent plot line that won't keep the average intelligent adult awake.

a very funny animated movieice age is one of the funniest movies i've ever seen and it is one of the few movies that i watch a lot. i like how you can watch this movie in 3 diffrent languages like in spanish, french, and english. i watch them in all three but i can't understand them in spanish and french. i wish they would do that in my favorite film monsters inc. the best part is the shortcut because manny, sid, diego, and the baby go down the slide. the best character is sid the sloth becuase he's funny when the rhinos carl and frank try to break his neck. this movie is pretty great.

Eat your heart out Shrek! This a laugh-out-loud movie for all ages and it's my all time favourite animated movie!

br /Superbly written, fantasically voiced - perfection.
br /
br /The plot has a great pace, the characters are hilarious, especially Sid, my personal favourite - he is the most annoying yet endearing misfit I've ever had the pleasure of watching.
br /
br /The writing in this film is first class. The jokes are swift, clever and keep you gagging for more (excuse the pun). It's hard to imagine animated characters with more chemistry but then if you've been unfortunate enough to have watched 'The Wild' (sorry Kiefer) you'll know exactly what I mean!
