How can you hate a movie that features ninja Siamese cats wreaking havoc with their kung fu prowess? ICats Dogs/I is an effects-laden family film that mystifies cat fanciers by casting dogs as the undisputed heroes in all-out warfare with nefarious felines. Hidden headquarters and high-tech gadgets are featured on both sides of this age-old battle. On the feline side, the long-haired Persian Mr. Tinkles (voice of Sean Hayes) plots to sabotage the efforts of Professor Brody (Jeff Goldblum) to discover a cure for human allergies to dogs. On the canine side, stalwart shepherd Butch (voice of Alec Baldwin) trains the mistakenly recruited beagle puppy Lou (voice of Tobey Maguire) to foil Mr. Tinkles's scheme--a mission that begins when Mrs. Brody (Elizabeth Perkins) adopts Lou for her son Scott (Alexander Pollock). p Using combinations of live animals, animatronic puppets and digital wizardry, ICats Dogs/I has just enough imagination to match its effects, climaxing with a feline global-domination scheme involving mice sprayed with chemicals that will make all humans allergic to dogs. Goldblum and Perkins gamely play second fiddles to this menagerie of mayhem and, as madcap "realism" gives way to cartoonish fantasy, the movie escalates into utter chaos, burdened by lame jokes but highlighted by a furry supporting cast including a Saluki hound (voice of Susan Sarandon), a shaggy sheepdog (voice of Michael Clarke Duncan), and a Chinese hairless techno-geek named Peek (voice of Joe Pantoliano). Good Fun with Cats and Dogs
A surprisingly well made movie that both my 5 and 8 year old boys quickly loved.

Does Your Dog Do Things Like That
We have watched this film over and over again, as our seven year old never seems to tire of it, he thinks it is one of the best. Only thing is we all have to be extra quiet so he can watch it. br / br /If I am honest it is a great family film for all to watch (no age restrictions whatsoever). A really family feel good film. Apart from one part when I cryed as I thought that something had happened to one of the animals, but no more as I don't want to spoil the film. br / br /The animals voices and the way their bodies move along the film make you almost believe that they are talking. What with the facial expressions of both dogs and cats in it you cann't help but watch it. All varities of dogs are in this film, you find yourself looking at some and just thinking it could be so and so's dog. br / br /I got it originally as our kids missed seeing it at the cinema when it was first out, but am so glad I did. Also with it having a Beagle in it, well just had to purchase it as it looks so much like ours. br / br /It really does make you think though, when we go out our dog seems nice and quiet sleeping in his basket, but really is he up to what those other dogs and cats are up to? The curtains don't look like they have been swung from thankfully, but then again you would never no. br / br /Personally I think that this is one of the best films for children, it shows the meaning of friendship and trust even though it is through animals, sometimes children can relate to animals more than humans and tell them their fears etc. br / br /A safe bet for any grandparent to keep in for when the grandchildren come to visit.

fantasic
this film is not just for kids is it really ? Im 29 yrs old and loved it so much I had to order it and I advise you all to do the same so funny and I have 4 cats and a dog I wonder if they get up to as much fun when Im at work lol :)

A FUN KIDS FILM
Without a doubt, 2001 was a year filled with rising stars, surprise box office hits, good movies and trends, which go against the norm. "Cats Dogs" is the latest to join an elite list including "Atlantis: The Lost Empire," "Dr. Dolittle 2," "Spy Kids," "See Spot Run" and "Shrek;" proves family oriented films will entertain all ages. br / br /"Cats Dogs" is one of the most unique adventure films I have seen because it combines humor, intelligence and the technical savvy to call itself a box-office hit. Additionally, the special effects are truly spectacular to watch and will leave everyone smiling in amazement asking the question; how did they do that? The combination of live actors with voices of actors with incredible special effects immediately elevated "Cats Dogs" to a new level of greatness. The movie takes an incredible look inside a top-secret, high-tech espionage war between cats and dogs, which their owners are completely unaware. Jeff Goldblum, Elizabeth Perkins, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, Michael Clarke Duncan and Sean Hayes combine their talents and voices to create an enjoyable atmosphere. br / br /It is Mr. Tinkles and friends against Lou and friends in an ultimate battle for world domination. Mr. Tinkles is the leader of the cats as he tries to invade the Brody household to steal research for a formula that would make human allergies to dogs extinct. Lou is sent in after the Brody's dog is lost to protect the family and formula. br / br /Five minutes was all it took to give "Cats Dogs" my approval because it contains so many impressive moments. Movie patrons will be glad to learn that it took me more than two hands to count the number of reasons to watch "Cats Dogs." From the special effects to the unique concept, "Cats Dogs" is going to please movie patrons across the United States. For example, the unprecedented battle scenes between the cats and dogs were creative and the humor, which came from the two species, left me laughing out loud. I knew "Cats Dogs" was going to be a smash hit; however, I didn't realize how much fun I could have watching the movie. br / br /The combination of live actors with voice over actors made "Cats Dogs" more interesting because it was an element that makes the film more unique. For example, other films like "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" and "See Spot Run" are great in their own special way; however, when you add this added element, movie patrons are guaranteed to be entertained because of the unique and rarity of the occurrences. br / br /Instant credibility came to the movie the moment I heard the voices of Baldwin and Heston because these are among the best actors in Hollywood; however, everyone involved with this movie made it a success. I hope everyone enjoys this film as much as I did because it truly is an amazing film. "Cats Dogs" has my vote for the movie that will make people have the most fun. Congratulations to Goldblum and Perkins for turning in performances that made "Cats Dogs" a bigger success. br / br /Aside from the special effects, the highlight of "Cats Dogs" is the performances by the live actors. For example, Goldblum is the only actor in Hollywood I could think of to play the role of the scientist because th role of the scientist brought him fame in "The Fly" series and again in the "Jurassic Park" series. Elizabeth Perkins seems to be tailor made for her role as mother; furthermore, she is extremely talented, I can't wait to see her next film. br / br /In a summer that has contained animated and live action inventive family films, 2001 has added another with "Cats Dogs." There is one piece of advice I must give to everyone, which is to watch everyone of the family films and share in the enjoyment.

Super hero Pet Movie !!!
Some animal movies aren't worth seeing more than once or twice, but this one is worth seeing many times! It won't go down in history as a classic, but it certainly puts you in a good mood and keeps you there! br / br /I love dogs, and the one in this movie ("Lou") is just adorable! Tobey Maguire is the perfect voice for him, and Sean Hayes is hysterically funny as Mr. Tinkles' voice! The writers should have gotten several awards for the script! Jeff Goldblum is always good, so it's no surprise that his character, Professor Brody, suits him to a tee. Everyone plays off each other very well, and the storyline is original and appealing. I love the fact that Charlton Heston plays the voice of the mastiff at Headquarters! Very well cast! br / br /I hope they do a sequel, with all the original actors voices! Oh yeah, did I mention how great Susan Sarandon was, as "Ivy" ??? br / br /Bravo to all these actors, and to the director, the writers, and the producer!
