Slick pop maestros at work
This Australian import was promptly delivered through my door much quicker than I expected. The quality is great here and you're getting a good bang for the buck. br / br /One of the biggest acts to emerge from Germany, Modern Talking are very good at what they do - write and perform fun pop songs. After all, life is supposed to be fun and enjoyed (we really don't need to be so serious all the time...). br / br /Like most people who are familiar with their music, I was introduced to Modern Talking through their major hit singles such as Brother Louie. I didn't think that much of them until I was in Spain one afternoon at a diner by the beach. The restaurant played one of their albums as I looked out on an ambient scene of sun, sea and sand - and, suddenly, it all made perfect sense. br / br /There are 18 tracks here and highlights include "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", Brother Louie" and "Cheri Cheri Lady". The main omission (in my opinion) is "Sexy Sexy Lover", but I guess you can't fit everything onto one 'best of' compilation. br / br /Enjoy.

fabulous Euro disco pop
Irresistible, energetic and immensely enjoyable dance music, the Modern Talking arrangements are sensational, and the songs melodic and fun. There are a few ballads in this compilation, but most of it is high-voltage and addictive; once in the stereo, this CD tends to get played over and over.brAmong my choice cuts are "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", "In 100 Years", and "Locomotion Tango", and these are the some of the songs that made "Modern Talking" sell enough records to make them one of the Top 10 most successful artists worldwide.pThe creative force is composer/arranger/producer Dieter Bohlen, who in 1984 started the duo with pop singer Thomas Anders as his partner; they split in 1987, to reunite 11 years later for another 5 years. It's the incredible arrangements that make this music what it is, and the polished professionalism of its performance. The voices are high and "electronically enhanced", and sing over the throbbing rhythm and blazing electronic sound. brDieter has produced many CDs for other artists, and one of my favorite albums, highly recommended if you like Modern Talking, is the one he produced for Engelbert Humperdinck, now released as "Step Into My Life", where Engelbert does a fabulous cover of "You're My Heart, You're My Soul".brDance your heart out to these nifty disco tunes, which will never go out of style as long as people want happy music for dancing and listening.brThe sound is fantastic and total playing time for 18 tracks is 70'09 minutes.
