Their musical style really stands out, with some hard rocking riffs and melodic violin playing really blending in well. Best track on the album EP is Finish Line, but the other 4 are really good punk tracks. brIf you're not into YC, get this to start your collection
I've had this album for ages and loved it since I got it back in 2002. It might only be 5 tracks but it's awesome but did you really expect anything different from these guys. I'd also recommend anything by yellowcard as I have all their EP's and Albums and other CD's they have appeared on. Trust me this is well worth whatever you'll pay for it and if you're any kind of music fan you need this CD along with all the other yellowcard CDs. You can't get the older EPs anymore which is why I'm glad I have them but snap up all the music that you can by this band because they truly rock your socks off !!! I'm really happy the band is getting big now they really deserve it and it's about time !
This album - yellowcard - ocean avenue is one of the best albums I own. The contrast between the guitar and the violine is amazing. This band should be on drive-thru records with an album like this. It is easy to sing along with great songs.
Yellowcard really impressed me with the full length "One For The Kids" on Lobster and I was looking forward to their next release. The Underdog EP is a stopgap on Fuelled By Ramen as they wait to release a full length for the major they signed to, Capitol.pThe title track underdog is one of their best songs to date and has all the catchiness and single potential of sureshot. Avondale features some of Ryan Keys strongest lyrics and shows a maturation in songwriting. The EP has a slightly slower tempo but is no major departure from their previous stuff, this is great because they still rule! The artwork is quite funny and shows the band getting badley beaten at American Football. Get this now because they could be big in a years time.
