Editorial reviews
Amazon.co.uk ReviewThe garage scene's long obsession with gangsta movies has turned to Austin Powers on the Blazing Squad's new album
In The Beginning. Why? Because the Blazin' Squad are the two-step "Mini Me" nestled in the lap of the So Solid Crew's
Goldmember. Smaller in size, but with a headcount of ten, they're intent on taking over the (music) world by methods that are not exactly...cricket.
First, with "Crossroads", the North London-estate crew cover a cult US R&B hit to kick start their career (see Another Level, Liberty X) and then onto the hip-hop tinged ballads such as the plodding "Love On The Line". In the Beginning is a very sweet stocking filler of middle of the motorway tracks (check out "The Love Song" and "I Belong To U") and slightly tougher garage-pop such as "All About The Music" where whatever street roughness originally resided in the Blazin' Squad is briefly let out. The clean-cut crew is positive proof that boy bands don't die, they just get bigger. And with these teenagers, we've entered the Jurassic age. They're large, lumbering and bound to be wiped out by smaller, more nimble creatures with bigger brains. Check out Blue's new album One Love or Justin Timberlake's Justified for how it should be done. These Blazin' boys are all smoke and no fire. --Jake Barnes

A + + + + + !Umm.... what shall I say?? Since the time I got 'In the beginning' I never stopped listening to it... Da Blazerz really rock! I really recommend this album to those who are into British r'n'b and hiphop. or actually u dont even have to be into british r'n' and hiphop, as long as u are into all kinda types of rnb and hiphop this is good for ya!... Although not all the songs have the hip hop music in it, but the singing styles are always hiphop. The CD's best songs are:-
-I understand (more of an intro to their first cd, as they say their names all 10 one by one...but thats just at the first minute of the song!)
-Love on the line... kinda pop:ish but U can still feel the hip hop:ing in it:)
-Crossroads... oh yeah... this is really a good one! the rhythm of this song reminds me of a song for another rap group at the 90's which name i cant really remember right now... but this has got to be an A+! i also recommend the remix of this song, its more hip hop:ish then the original one
-The love song... ok, this is one of the songs that i least like in the cd... no comments, BUT THIS STILL DOESNT MEAN THAT I DONT LIKE IT!
-I belong to you... totally r'n'b! really great song!
-Standard flow...ok something i least like again...
-Remiscence.... yup this is good... but still u can feel the pop beat in it... u may find some funk in this too.
-supastar... its about some one u really care about, that u idolize and is far away from ya... good song, r'n'b/hiphop no pop rhythm in this!
-riders... fast rhythm...just ok...again one of those that i least like.
-where the story ends... yeah this is really good. also r'n'b/hip hop rhythm in this... again no pop in this.
what else can i say? if u havent got this cd yet buy it a.s.a.p.! the new album 'now or never' is another masterpiece by the blazerz but honestly i gotta say that 'in the beginning' is much more better (MY OPINION)!

Blazin Genius!Words fail me, which thankfully cannot be said for the mighty bunch of musical gods, that are the Blazin Squad. The lyrical depth, the emotion, the feeling, the way they sound like a Dr Dre inspired bunch of street hardened gangstaz, but are actually english kids (NO REALLY!!) demonstrates a maturity beyond there years. I urge everyone who up to now has derided this Beatle-esque bunch, to charge out, buy a copy, get your freainds round, hold hands and sing along to 'Crossroads'! I challenge you not to feel the Blazin power!!!
And they look so cool to, how do they manage it!

Okay. Its hard to say what its like because there are loads of diffrent sorts of music on this. People have diffrent opinions of things, so I can't say you'll like this. I thought it was good though, the best I think is where the story ends. If you like rap, and garage with a good beat then I think you'll like it. If you dont, try it out, you might find a new style of music you like.
