So bad it's good =PThe cheese is so thick in this video you can dip breadsticks in it.pPretty much standard mecha fare, with token "voice activated" weapons... I never thought I'd hear anything to match Nadesico's "Gekigan BEAM" attack, but it's there. Although looking at it from a 2004 perspective makes you realise just how *BAD* it really is, that's why I love it!pOverall it's quite a well done although there's bound to be several points where you just think "Huh? When did that get explained?"p4 stars for not being the entire story, just the cut down version.pSo buy it, get comfy, ignore plotholes so big you can pilot a mech through them and pass the nachos...

High Adrenaline, High Cyonic, Hyper Space CombatWe westerners haven't "embraced" mecha films like the Japanese do. Within two seconds of watching Dangaioh you won't have a choice as cyber-babe "Mia Alice" yells "All Four! pepare to form Dangaioh". From here on in strap yourself in for a white knuckle ride of Mecha bashing, seizure inducing lighting effects not to mention some surprizingly good characters development in between.brDangaioh is something of a sleek but battered Mecha in both its film world and the outside real world. To a UK resident it first appeared in 1994 as a way of testing "mecha" demand by the then Manga video market leader "Manga Video".brIn this re-mastered DVD you'll notice (Like the Video) that the film is slightly rushed due to some editing to introduce us to the Dangaioh universe. A by the numbers mecha series it features a powerful humaniod mecha that is formed by four shuttles and piloted by four "physic warriors". Consisting of three females and one male. Each have had their memories erased by the Dangaioh creator Doctor Tarsan. All they now know is that they fight an impossibly huge fleet lead by the evil Captain Garimoth in their mech, which is under constant pursuit by his evil allies.brYou'll notice the Gundam and Macross influences, but Dangaioh is more throwaway straight to the point battles. Also it is contemporary, taking influences from the Terminator and judging by the female characters "uniforms" (read: skimpy bathing suits) I'd say Baywatch too.brGreat film!
