The next day he returned but again I did not hear him so the CD was returned to you and I got my money back. I am now very dubious about ordering anything
Two great albums from Andy Williams. When "Solitaire" was released in 1973 it peaked at number 3 during its 26 week run in the album charts. The single of the same name reached number 4. Unlike Andy's other albums of the period where he mostly covered the hits of the day (often better than the original artist)"Solitaire" was an album of original or lesser known songs. Produced by Richard Perry (Carly Simon, Harry Nilsson, Ringo Starr, Rod Stewart), it had a completely different sound to other Andy Williams albums. It sounds as fresh and new as it did back in 1973. Songs by the likes of George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder sound like they were written especially for Andy. "The First Time Ever" is also a great album of beautiful love songs and fits well next to "Solitaire". If you want an Andy Williams CD that is not another Greatest Hits collection, then buy this cd with confidence.
I had this on vinyl many years ago, and am pleased to add it to the colection again. It's produced by one of the 70s and 80s top players, the musicians also appeared on many hits from then, and it shows.
