Two worlds, two CDs
After watching QAF Series 3, and being enthralled with the selection of music that was playing in the background of the show, I decided to order the soundtrack for the third series. And may I say, I'm glad I did. What the makers of this CD tried and succeeded in doing was to put the spirit and essence of both worlds displayed in the show, into these two CDs.
The first CD mainly contains music from the clubbing scenes of QAF, containing songs that range from dark with soulful lyrics, such as 'Some Lovin' to remixes of famous club anthems such as 'At the End' and 'The Sound of Violence' to some more latin style rhythms such as 'Viva Colombia'. To put it simply there is a little bit of everything for everyone. All beautifully mixed together, blending smoothly into one another, giving 50 minutes of good dancing tunes.
CD 2 on the other hand focuses on the emotional aspect of the series. Although containing only six songs, it manages to compress the best songs from all the good lovemaking scenes, to the really sad moments of QAF into one CD. Again a litte bit of everything, ranging from the sad 'Weapon' and 'Lovers Spit' to the light rock sounds of 'Loretta Young Silks' to the beautiful moody electro sound of Underworld's 'Sola Sistem'. For those who you have seen the series 'Weapon' is the song playing in the background when Brian and Justin make love to each other after getting back together. It is a bit of a shame that there are only six songs available for this CD, but the selection provided is good enough. What more than makes up for the small number of songs on the second CD is the fact that it is an enhanced CD containing a videoclip of the song 'Some Lovin' featuring the singer Kristine W and the QAF cast. A very nice bonus.
All in all, if you are a big fan of the series i would say that this double CD pack would be a worthwile addition to your CD collection.
