the Body Popping itch..
CD1 is excellent, as it has the real electro classics. Planet Rock, Play at you own risk, Play that beat Mr DJ, Pack Jam.. Bambaataa & the Soul Sonic Force, Jonzun Crew and Planet Patrol, all great bands, that influenced a lot of todays wanabes.

This is where Hip Hop started and will always be remembered by me...

Sorry CD2 is not all that ;-(

Brekdance, body pop, do a windmill, relive the good old days :-)

Tommy Boy
This compilation is OK. There are some classics on there that is for sure. But it seems a bit sloppy. They've bundled all the artists songs together like three Coolio songs in a row, only one of which is any good. It's the same problem throughout the two CD's. Lots of mediocre songs there. Lots of good songs missing too. Also there is way too much Afrika Bambaata there. It gets a bit boring. Look elsewhere.

Hip-hop as raw as it gets . . .
I was amazed when i first saw this CD thinking that I could get a lot of the little tracks here and there that I had been after for ages, however when i got it I found more than just "little" tracks, this was a bible for Tommy Boy, without a doubt the pioneer record label for break dance and funky hip-hop. With the first cd blastin' straight in with Afrika Bambaataa and moving through such artists as Digital Underground, De La Soul, Coolio, Chaka Khan etc . . how on earth can you go wrong. It is simply down to that fact that as a label Tommy Boy has introduced any true hip-hop head 2 some of the pioneers of hip-hop and rap. Just get this album and you will see just how good it is, if you own all of the tracks . . then get it for the remix CD, which is by the way totally exclusive to this album and these remixes are amazing, especially the version of "I Wonder Why?" absolute heaven. If gos was a hip-hop compilation then he would have two magic words written right across his face . . . . "TOMMY BOY".
