A revelation!
I first heard the track 'WSM 650' on BBC radio 2 so I bought this album. It's the best country / blue grass I've ever heard!
This exceptional album, of which I know very little history, has the 3 ingredients which are so rarely put together in one song, let alone on one album. - Musicianship which is at virtuoso level, the vocals and harmonies are unsurpassable and natural, and most of all the songs are most memorable, interesting and well written.
This sounds like an exaggeration but the proof is in the listening. The style is, of course, musicians stood around one mike, recorded in one take, which makes this acheivement even more incredible. Lovers of fast Banjo pickin' won't be disappointed.
Should go down in history!
