Incorporating a host of new features, such as ZIP file templates, multilevel navigation bars, a digital photo gallery builder, and Website Pros' QuickTools, NetObjects Fusion 7 takes the strengths of the NetObjects Fusion product line to new heights. Ideal for the novice developer who wants to build a simple family photo album online, the program is also advanced enough for serious Web developers who wish to maintain complete control over their designs.
For anyone looking to sell products on the Web, the new PayPal e-commerce component will get you up and running in no time. This feature lets you add a Buy button to any page, configure it with the appropriate purchase info, and instantly allow users to buy your products online. Best of all, by leveraging PayPal's e-commerce services, you can take credit cards, utilize a shopping cart, and more.

I upgraded to version 7 largely on the strength of the new facility for on-line photo albums, but this demonstrates a nagging drawback to NetObjects software. There are some very annoying bugs in the software which sometimes cause the application to crash, and sometimes lose data. Somehow, I have managed to create an inconsistency between the assets recognised by NetObjects and the photo albums on one of my pages. Changing the photos or albums is a tedious process, not helped by having to navigate to each image file from the top of the directory every time. The software also seems to have cut the original image files down in size, rather than working on copies.
To cap it all, NetObjects released v7.5 within days of me receiving v7 but my plaintive requests for a free upgrade have fallen on deaf ears. Unless I can tame the bugs, I may be forced to give up on NetObjects in favour of Dreamweaver.
My bottom line on NetObjects 7: beware the bugs and backup often!

Begginer to Proffesional - This does the lot.
I use this software on a regular basis (daily ) and have found it one of the most straight forward pieces of kit available. We received our first copy/version from our webhost and from there set up our own business in webdesign on the back of this software. The proccess and screen views are simple enough for any user to understand, A novice could open up the screen and produce a website in half a day without so much as reading more than 10 pages of the manual. Whilst it remains simplistic to view Fusions also harbours hidden depths for the more advanced user. You can edit the code, add java and flash, enable ecommerce and integrate databases. Even high designers use this software for integrated datbase sites with asp/php coding. It is well supported by newsgroups which have been invaluable means or solving problems and working out 'how to do' a particular task. The forum/newgroups offer free advice and usually within 24hrs which is a valuble support system. Many other companies produce bolt ons, ie site search, special effects and form handlers. All in all, we have managed to produce websites from a piece of software and with imagination and creativity plus an image editor have sold sites upwards of £1500. If you intend to get online this is the software for you. Just don't all buy it or we will be out of business!!!
